It’s been a busy week this week getting ready to move house and to be honest I was just lacking inspiration on what to paint. I started by mixing a colour I liked and put some shapes on the page and it took me to the sea! The idea evolved from there with watercolour shells. I painted so many mini shell studies, looking at the unique tones, textures and shapes of them all.
I went back to my original sea background and added in some big scallop shells. I felt it needed more of a pop of colour so the bright chalks called on me again!
Light, delicate and dreamy this week.
It’s always the same, I think I don’t have time of ideas for paintings and then once I start, I can’t stop!
