All too often we overwork our art and it’s mainly because we don’t stand back and let the magic happen with watercolours. They’re the one type of paint that pretty much does a lot of the hard work for us!
You’ll learn techniques on how to abstract references, paint feelings and overall loosen up your painting.
The subject for this class can be something you’re interested in and the techniques I’ll show you will be adaptable to all, so you can bring your own reference if you like, or paint from your head.
I will show you how to use the techniques on a flower, landscape and imagined composition. The rest of the time will be focusing on your own interest.
This class is a great introduction to painting and experimenting with different watercolour painting techniques to create your landscape. Watercolour paintings look delicate and whimsical when they’re used correctly and they’re not as difficult as the bad press gives them!

Used by many of the Masters, oil paints are known for creating some of the most famous paintings of all time. But they’re not that scary, honest. This workshop is perfect as an introduction to use them. You’ll be painting along with Bob Ross in no time!
You’ll learn how to use oil paints, different brushes to use, layering your paint, colour mixing, creating textures and leave with a finished painting using all your new skills!
Perfect for beginners that have never painted before, or those that have used other paints such as acrylics or watercolours, but not oils.
Please note, we will be using water mixable oils for this class. They work just the same as ‘normal’ oils (we’ll be using the same mixing medium) but just less chemicals. Even if it’s ‘normal’ oils you’ve got at home, I promise these will still teach you the same things.

This class looks at how to use chalk pastels to create your drawings. You’ll learn how to build layers, be encouraged to try different texture techniques, experiment with alternative colour variations and use tone to build a realistic representation of an object, landscape or animal.
Perfect for beginners or those that have used chalk pastels before.
Materials are provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own along if you’d prefer to learn how to use what you’ve got in the house.
