Open Easel Sessions | BYO Painting, with Tutoring | Every Wednesday 6.30-8.30pm | Jan - Feb | Adult Art Class

from £30.00

Time: 6.30-8.30pm
Date: Every Wednesday from Jan 14th - February 11th 2026.
Location: Millworks, 28 Field Road, Busby, G76 8SE

Book dates individually (or as a 5 block with discount), but booking is essential.

An opportunity to work on your own project in the studio, surrounded by likeminded people, with help and guidance from me.

One thing I hear pretty much every workshop is ‘I just don’t make time during the week to practice’ and I’d like to help that. Each Wednesday, I’ll be opening up the studio for ‘Open Easel Sessions’ - a chance to choose your own subject, bring your own materials and I’ll tutor each person based on their preferences.

Spaces are limited to 6 which means you still get lots of 121 support.

It’s really nice to be in a supportive group setting where everyone’s got the same goal of improving their art, and I’d love to provide that space - good music, biscuits, tea and chat.

It’s bring your own materials (any welcome) and ideas (any welcome), but I’ll have the basics there for you too. I’ll be providing help and guidance for anything you’re unsure of. For example, if your portrait isn’t quite right, I’ll show you where to change it, if your landscapes looking flat I’ll offer options to improve texture, etc etc.

I’ll provide as much or as little support as you’d like through the time.

There will be no overall theme so the world is your oyster!

Oils and acrylic paints, canvases and papers are not included, but charcoals, pencils and all mixing palettes, water pots and easels are all available for you to use. Plus a big folder of reference images.

Spaces are limited to 6 which means you still get lots of 121 support. More info below.

Why this class?

Build your skills in drawing or painting, plus keep that accountability to draw/paint. A relaxed format of class means you can bring along your own project and have guidance throughout to help you reach whatever goal that may be. It could mean some people are working on portraits, some on landscapes, some in pencil and some in watercolour!

Suitable for beginners.

Learn some new skills, have a chat and zone out! There will be a maximum of 6 in the class and I keep a very relaxed class.

Venue

The venue is my studio in Busby. It’s approx 10 minute walk from Busby Train Station and the number 6 bus stop. There is free parking outside.

The studio is on the first floor with no lift access, apologies if that causes any accessibility issues for you.

Timings

Class will start promptly at 6.30pm, so please arrive 5 minutes early to allow for settling in. Class will end at 8.30pm.

Cancellation policy

Fingers crossed there won’t be any disruptions to class, but in the case the class needs to be cancelled, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class. If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer make it, I have a 72 hour cancellation policy. If cancelled more than 72 hours before, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class, but unfortunately if within the 72 hours and I’m unable to fill the spot (I will try the waiting list!) then I can’t offer a refund.
