Ballet Dancers Workshop | Sun 17 May 2-5pm | Adult Art Class

£50.00

Time: 2-5pm
Date: Sun 17 May 2026
Location: Millworks, 28 Field Road, Busby, G76 8SE

Ballet dancers are such fun to draw with elongated limbs, muscular physique and lots of movement within their poses. A great way to practice human proportions and energetic drawing. We will cover off:

  • Sketching faces

  • Sketching bodies

  • Creating movement in a sketch

  • Colour mixing for skin tones

We will use different drawing and painting materials including charcoal, pen and watercolour, with the main aim of getting the form and tone correct.

My main aim is to get you feeling more confident about being able to draw a person or a face, and in turn we’ll work on colour. The techniques of colour mixing and layering are transferable for oils, acrylics and watercolour.

Please note, there will not be a live model, we will be working from reference images. I have picked particular photographs which will help you learn the fundamentals of drawing people/dancers.

Materials are provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own along if you’d prefer to learn how to use what you’ve got in the house.

Why this class?

If you’re a beginner or perhaps just not as confident with drawing people, you’ll find the techniques we’ll cover helpful for taking away the people-scaries! A great way to try lots of materials for drawing and painting too!

This is a chilled afternoon away from it all to learn some new skills, have a chat and zone out! I keep a very relaxed class.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own refreshments too (wine is allowed!)

Venue

The venue is in my studio in Busby, Glasgow. It’s a 10 minute walk from Busby Train Station and the number 6 bus stops nearby too. There is free parking outside the venue.

Unfortunately the room is on the first floor with no lift access. My sincere apologies if this is a barrier to you attending.

Timings

Class will start promptly at 2pm, so please arrive 5 minutes early to allow for settling in. Class will end at 5pm.

Cancellation policy

Fingers crossed there won’t be any disruptions to class, but in the case the class needs to be cancelled, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class. If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer make it, I have a 72 hour cancellation policy. If cancelled more than 72 hours before, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class, but unfortunately if within the 72 hours and I’m unable to fill the spot (I will try the waiting list!) then I can’t offer a refund.
