Take Up Space | Triptych Mixed Media
As women were taught to stay small; small in situations, small in spaces, small in body size. This artwork challenges us to take up space; space with our bodies, space with our stance, space with our movement.
Over the past 9 years I’ve explored themes of body inclusivity in my own work as I personally have to work hard to have self acceptance of my own body. Through this painting I welcome you to embrace shape, texture and colour of our own bodies, and to take up space.
Kayleigh is a visual artist from Glasgow that explores a range of relationship themes in her work using media that is bold, abstracted and often a hint of surreal. Her love of expressive brushwork and deliberate line, balanced with vibrant colour to create big energy can be seen throughout her paintings.
This artwork has been created using acrylics, chalk, charcoal and collage. It is presented on 3 different sized canvas boards and displayed in a large blue tray frame and varnished satin for preservation.
Selected to be exhibited as part of a group collection on ‘Celebrating art and the body’, curated by ‘I Am More Than’, at The Alchemy Experiment in August 2025.
Measures 109cm high × 84cm wide, framed.
No prints available.
Created in 2025.
