Live Painting at The Ivy

The Ivy, Glasgow was launching their new Taste of Scotland menu celebrating Scottish produce. They hosted a press launch event where I was hired to paint the room and table live. The main brief was to capture the inherent Scottish vibes of misty heather hills, include the mossy tablescapes and have it completed on the evening to present at the end of the night.

After a recce to the room the event would take place in, I started the bones of the painting in my studio. It was A1 size and I chose acrylics as the medium. The room is so opulent with lots of deep greens and golds, plus the addition of heather purples. Here’s the final piece, and a process video of how I created it.

I’d absolutely love to do more of these!
