Watercolour Landscape Workshop | Sun 12th May 1-4pm | Adult Art Class

£40.00

Time: 1-4pm
Date: Sun 12 May 2024
Location: Millworks, Field Road, Busby G76 8SE

In this class, we will paint a beautiful landscape scene. Using the watercolours to create trees, mountains, water and sky we’ll cover a range of textures and techniques.

You’ll also learn some new techniques with some warm-up paintings to start.

Perfect for all abilities:
- Beginners - I’ll teach you from scratch. If you’ve never used watercolours before, this will show you step by step.
- Intermediate - you’ll pick up a few more techniques with this class but can go at your own pace with any necessary guidance along the way too. If you’ve been to one of my classes before, these are all brand new paintings so can work great as a follow on for your skills.
- Pros - even if you’re just looking for the chat and want to paint along, everyone is welcome - you might even pick up some tips and ideas along the way!

This class is a great introduction to painting and experimenting with different watercolour painting techniques to create your landscape. Watercolour paintings look delicate and whimsical when they’re used correctly and they’re not as difficult as the bad press gives them!

MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED.

Spaces are limited. More info below.

Why this class?

Learning how to use paints can be daunting, but I’ll simplify the process for you and you will leave with the knowledge of how to create other paintings at home. We will try new techniques to achieve interesting finishes and help you find your own way of painting.

A lovely afternoon away from it all to learn some new skills, have a chat and zone out! I keep a very relaxed class.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own refreshments too (wine is allowed!)

Venue

The venue is in my new studio in Busby, Glasgow. It’s a 10 minute walk from Busby Train Station and the number 6 bus stops nearby too. There is free parking outside the venue.

Unfortunately the room is on the first floor with no lift access. My sincere apologies if this is a barrier to you attending.

Timings

Class will start promptly at 1pm, so please arrive 5 minutes early to allow for settling in. Class will end at 4pm.

Materials List

All materials are provided. However, if you’d prefer to use your own so you can learn to work with what you’ve got at home, you’re more than welcome to bring them along. Here’s what we’ll be using:

  - Watercolour paint (pans or tubes)
 - Watercolour paintbrushes
 - Watercolour paper / thick cartridge paper
 - Pot of water
- Masking Tape
 - Scrap paper
 - Mixing palette (you might have one in your watercolours, or a plate does just fine too!)
 - Kitchen roll / Towel for drying your brush
 - Pencil and rubber

If you’d like any advice or suggestions, I’ve put my favourite materials here.

Cancellation policy

Fingers crossed there won’t be any disruptions to class, but in the case the class needs to be cancelled, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class. If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer make it, I have a 72 hour cancellation policy. If cancelled more than 72 hours before, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class, but unfortunately if within the 72 hours and I’m unable to fill the spot (I will try the waiting list!) then I can’t offer a refund.
