Impasto Acrylic Workshop | Sun 9 June 1-4pm | Adult Art Class

£40.00

Time: 1-4pm
Date: Sun 9th June 2024
Location: Millworks, 28 Field Road, Busby, G76 8SE

Think Van Gogh’s Starry Night or Monet’s Water Lilies, learn how to use acrylic paints in the impasto style. Thick textures, deliberate strokes and often bold colour choices, impasto is fun!

You don’t need any experience in acrylics to come along to this class. Everything learnt can be used with oils too, but due to drying time, we’ll be using acrylics.

All materials are included in the workshop

Why this class?

Whether you’ve painted much before or not, this workshop is good for exploring new textures, enhancing colouring mixing and practicing really deliberate painting. We’ll explore different ways to apply the paint and you’ll learn how to use it to create a full painting, or as part of your other paintings.

Overall, it’s really fun!

Enjoy an afternoon away from it all to learn some new skills, have a chat and zone out! I keep a very relaxed class.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own refreshments too (wine is allowed!)

Venue

The venue is in my new studio in Busby, Glasgow. It’s a 10 minute walk from Busby Train Station and the number 6 bus stops nearby too. There is free parking outside the venue.

Unfortunately the room is on the first floor with no lift access. My sincere apologies if this is a barrier to you attending.

Timings

Class will start promptly at 1pm, so please arrive 5 minutes early to allow for settling in. Class will end at 4pm.

Materials List

All materials are provided. However, if you’d prefer to use your own so you can learn to work with what you’ve got at home, you’re more than welcome to bring them along. Here’s what we’ll be using:
 - Acrylic Paints
 - Brushes
 - Acrylic Paper / canvas
 - Tear off palette
 - Masking Tape
 - Pot of Water
 - Kitchen roll / Towel for drying your brush
 - Pencil and rubber

If you’d like any advice or suggestions, I’ve put my favourite materials here.

Cancellation policy

Fingers crossed there won’t be any disruptions to class, but in the case the class needs to be cancelled, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class. If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer make it, I have a 72 hour cancellation policy. If cancelled more than 72 hours before, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class, but unfortunately if within the 72 hours and I’m unable to fill the spot (I will try the waiting list!) then I can’t offer a refund.
